POSTER DESIGN
The brief was to design a promotional poster for a theater group's upcoming play, which was based on the life and work of a renowned writer and humorist. I aimed to capture the essence of the writer’s distinct personality by illustrating his signature features—his iconic glasses and a book—stylized in a way that subtly forms his face. The composition playfully nods to both his literary legacy and witty character, offering a visual homage that aligns with the tone of the production.
This poster was created during the COVID-19 pandemic for a poster design competition. I used bold red to symbolize danger and urgency, paired with large, impactful typography. The haphazard cut-out style reflects the overwhelming and chaotic nature of the news at the time. In contrast, calming tones at the bottom of the composition represent the idea of home as a place of safety and refuge, reinforcing the message: Stay Home, Stay Safe.
